- Keep away from salty food; try not to use excessive salt in food items
- Go for low fat diets
- If you smoke, quit, if you drink, make sure that your alcohol consumption is moderate.
- If your doctor has prescribed medication to control your blood pressure, don’t stop taking it unless you consult with your physician. Also do not skip your medication even for a day
- Don’t forget your doctor’s appointments
- If your physician recommends exercise routines, follow them diligently
- Ensue that the other members of your family also get their blood pressure checked at regular intervals
